Microdata contains every individual (e.g., person) record in the
survey/study/research i.e., information at the level of individual
respondents. Mostly, survey data are published at marco level (aggregates), because for reasons of depicting trends, results of analysis, privacy and volume. However, aggregates will not give flexibility to researchers as it will limit to the published results only and any further relationships amongst variables will be missed out. Access to microdata lets researchers with much more freedom to explore and perform detailed analysis. For this reason, KEMHRC Pune allows access to microdata for research purposes which will eventually add up to quality research of national interest.
